 PASTEL PORTRAITS with Kelly Hughes

Artist pastels are a versatile medium, used for sketching, painterly effects, and even as a wet medium. Explore the rich, saturated colors possible as we capture the likeness of a person. This class is open to artists at any stage of practice. Open Window Studio artist Kelly Hughes offers instruction, guidance and encouragement as you learn to paint with soft pastel chalk.

 Recommended:

9” x 12” pad pro Wallis sanded pastel paper  8 sheets/ $20 

1 set Sennelier soft pastel  40 half sticks (to share)

1—set 24 colors pastel pencils

1 Package (12) med. Tortillons

Can of workable fixative

Latex gloves

Kneaded erasers

Table top easel or drawing boards

(Aprons recommended)
