I woke to the sunshine as Chip snored on. I drove out to Trail of Tears to meet up with Gillespie and two volunteers to clear cedars from a hillside glade, below the old overlook. I enjoyed being outdoors in the brisk air and hearing the distantly familiar sound of the chain saw in winter.
Spent the afternoon either parked on the couch or eating leftover turkey sandwiches. Finally we got up the gumption to play a game of Settlers, before heading back to the TV to watch the Blues play the Blackhawks.
I received a call today from a Missourian reporter asking for a portrait and my new year resolution. Hmmm...
