Thoughts on the Life of Pi

Upon seeing one of my best loved books as a picture, i am very impressed with its integrity and beauty and boldness.

It is indeed a remarkable thing to live a life in the presence of fear, and find the "musta" within to release its hold on your life. There is a return to clarity with each of those small victories, and an understanding of Life and strength of purpose results. That is agreed by most to be "someone with an amazing story, that could make you believe in God."

Is it not God/Life Itself that provides circumstance that challenges our awareness of our connection to Itself? our errant beliefs about ourselves may result in perceiving ourselves alone, disconnected, separate, and miserable in loss of purpose. And to release our awareness of fear in our life, the fear that ever brings with it separation rather than integration, brings us a sense of redemption, does it not?

The father in the film taught his son "a healthy respect for life," yet was disconnected from his zoo animals, the souls around him. Science was his savior. It was religion and the spiritual he feared.

Pi searched for meaning, realizing that religion discouraged the very personal and powerful way in which a being realizes it is one with Life, not separate from it.

Only by confronting the uncontrollable forces of our nature and the relinquishing of that fear, comes "a healthy respect for Life" and a peaceful surrender to Its Way.
